Carolyn Mary Deike

Carolyn Mary Deike, 81, passed away peacefully November 9, 2024 in Huntley IL.  Born in Chicago May 6, 1943 to the late Harry and Cleo (Dennig) Deike.  Carolyn's family moved to Crystal Lake in 1956.  She is a graduate of St. Thomas the Apostle School, Crystal Lake Community High School (now Central High School) and Northern Illinois University.

She was a teacher for  visually impaired children for many years mainly in the Chicago Public School System.  Carolyn enjoyed her retirement years, especially being a active part of several catholic prayer groups, including the Magnificat held at Holy Apostles Church in McHenry, and many happy times with friends.  She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her loving and caring friends.  Carolyn in preceded in death by her parents, brother Philip, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation to honor Carolyn Mary Deike will be held Friday November 22, 2024 from 8:30am - 930am at Cardinal Funeral Home 7715 US Highway 14 Crystal Lake IL 60012.  Funeral Mass to immediately follow visiting hours at 10:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church 451 Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake IL 60014.  Interment at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Carolyn to the Blind Service Association 17 N State Street #1050 Chicago IL 60503 or http://blindservicechicago.org/
