Christine Lee Persson

Christine Lee Persson, of Cary, passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2022.  Chris was born on February 11th, 1953 to George and Virginia Turpel.

She is survived by her husband Hugh of 43 years, daughter Stephanie (Kevin) Davis, son Brent, and grandchildren Carson and Nolan. Chris is also survived by her siblings Sue (John) Lupo, Jack Turpel, Nancy (Joe) Yogus, and Will (Kathy) Turpel.

She grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan. After graduation, she began her career teaching high school math. Chris and Hugh married on July 21, 1979. They spent the summers boating and golfing with their kids at their lake house in central Wisconsin.

During retirement, Chris enjoyed cruising with Hugh and spending time with family. She continued to golf and was a member of a women’s golf league at Lake Arrowhead. Chris was an active volunteer at Good Shepherd Hospital and was able to share her knitting and sewing talents through her volunteer efforts. She loved to read and sharing conversation with her book club friends.

A celebration of life is planned for February 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation to a cancer charity of choice.
