Denise Gibbons

Denise Gibbons of Oregon IL passed away peacefully April 9, 2025 in McHenry IL. Born May 5, 1958 in Chicago IL to the late Walter and Mary (nee Marshall) Nappe. Beloved wife of the late Barri Gibbons; loving mother of Sheryl (Steve) Grimes; caring grandmother of Kennyth and Matthew Grimes; fond sister of the late Larry Nappe, Carol (Thomas) Gambrel and Karen (Jeffrey) Volker; and fun loving aunt of Victoria and Nathan Malek.

Denise was raised in Chicago by her loving parents and graduated from Foreman High School. She went on to work in the family business at the Nappe Music House, and furthered her career by working as an executive administration assistant for Midwest Wire and the Alter Group for many years. She was a faithful member to the First Presbyterian Church of Oregon under the care of Reverend Karen Gerhard-Connor, which she enjoyed very much. Denise had a strong love for her savior Jesus Christ. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed nature, going on road trips and listening to music. Denise played the flute in high school marching band and concert band where she held first chair superior. She had a passion for horses and racing. She loved the Kentucky Derby. Denise was fun, full of life and loved to dance. She was a very dedicated worker and a very professional business woman. She loved her work and was able to build a beautiful home with her long time partner the late Keith Bowcock in Oregon, Illinois.

Please join us to honor the life and Legacy of Denise Gibbons Thursday April 17 from 3 PM to 8 PM for a time of visitation at Cardinal Funeral Home 7715 US Highway 14 Crystal Lake IL 60012. Prayer service at 7pm.
