George B. Renner Jr.

December 20, 1943 — May 16, 2021

George B. Renner Jr., of Elgin, passed from his earthly life to be with our Lord on May 16, 2021. He joins his parents George and Irene (nee McDonough) Renner in heaven. Born December 20, 1943 in Chicago IL, George was the loving father of Lisa Colander and Daniel (Nicole) Renner; caring grandfather of Kaila Quint, Shae Colander, Gavin and Ava Renner; fond brother of James (Judith) Renner, Debra (John) Baruch and Janis (James) Kryzak and uncle to many nieces and nephews. His final days were spent surrounded and supported by family members.  George grew up in Prospect Heights and graduated from Prospect High School in 1962. George was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS America during the Vietnam War. He had a joy for traveling and regaled his family with stories about the ports he’d visited during his service. George used the electronic technician training he received in the Navy as a foundation for his career in the medical device industry. Working for companies like Litton, Phillips, and Northwestern Medical Center, he installed and maintained state of the art diagnostic imaging equipment. The best days were those spent with family. Outdoor adventures camping and exploring the Midwest and beyond were happy times. George was always the person to go to for family history, the real story, or just plain old wise advice. All of this will be very much missed. Please join us for a memorial visitation June 5, 2021 from 9am-11am at Cardinal Funeral Home 7715 US Highway 14 Crystal Lake IL 60012. (Next to Flowerwood Nursery) Cremation rights have been accorded. Inurnment will immediately follow at Bluff City Cemetery.
