James L. Jensen, of Crystal Lake passed away unexpectedly at his home April 2, 2021 with his wife beside him. Born in Chicago to Lee and Lillian "twiggles” (nee Carlson)Jensen on August 25, 1951. Beloved husband of 30 years to Christine (nee Elsner); loving brother of Sandy (Phil) Larson; caring uncle to many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Jensen and sister, Doris Helfers. He was Godfather to Zachary and Nathan Elsner. Jim grew up in Crystal Lake, graduating from Crystal Lake Central High School in 1970 where he was a star running back. He went on to play football for Middle Tennessee State and played semi professional football for the Niles Saints. He remained an avid sports fan, cheering for the Bears, Cubs, and Notre Dame. Jim along with his brother Larry, took over his father's business, Lee Jensen Sales and ran it successfully until his brother's and father’s passing. The Company grew considerably. and remains today. During his years as a successful business man Jim loved to travel; with his wife Chris visiting Hawaii many times, Europe, Mexico the Cayman Islands . Arizona and his lake home is Wisconsin. He loved the water and soaking up as much sunshine as he could. Having an outgoing personality Jim made many friends; personally and professionally. Jim also had a generous heart and was indeed a philanthropist giving to many charities and participating in various charitable outings for The Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund, Clearbrook Center, Community Cancer Foundation along with many more gold charity events. He was an avid golfer, and loved his many cats and dogs, including his many German Shepherd Dogs. Due to the current COVID 19 pandemic, a private service will be held for Jim Tuesday April 13, 2021. A celebration of Life service with be held at a future date determined by the family.
