Joseph G. Kaltwasser of Geneva, IL passed peacefully away June 20, 2021. Born August 20, 1928 in Chicago to Alfons and Rosina (nee Kreuzer) Kaltwasser. Beloved husband to the late Jean (nee Segneri); loving father of Victoria (Larry) Wilbrandt, Jennifer Milano, and Eric Kaltwasser; caring grandfather of Emily (Tim) Tjeerdsma, Daniel (Nadia) Wilbrandt, Anthony (Catherine) Milano, Adam Milano, Avery Kaltwasser, and Kayla Snodgrass; great grandfather of seven and fond brother of the late Margaret (Bill) Hedge. Joseph started his educational career by graduating from Thornton High School in Harvey, IL. He continued on to earn his Bachelor's of Science in engineering management from Roosevelt University and a Master's Degree in business administration from Northern University. Joe was a dedicated worker for Northern Illinois Gas Company for 40 years and retired in 1990. He proudly served in the US Army from 1951-1953 as an Army Corporal. Joe was also a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake, and during his time there he was proud to serve as a member of the Knights of Columbus for 65 years. He dedicated much of his time and energy to the Knights of Columbus, serving as the State Deputy from 1988-1989, the Vice Supreme Master from 1992-1994, and became the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem from 1994-2002. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 171 in Crystal Lake and the Forty and Eight Veterans Organization, as well as a former Huntley Police Commissioner from 1997-2007 and an Arlington Heights Rotarian from 1965-1990. Join us in honoring Joseph Wednesday, June 23, 2021 for a time of visitation from 5pm-8pm at Cardinal Funeral Home 7715 US Highway 14 Crystal Lake, IL 60012 (next to Flowerwood Nursery). Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 451 W. Terra Cotta Avenue Crystal Lake IL 60014. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
