Matthew Warren

Matthew Warren, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2023 in McHenry, Illinois. Beloved son of Mike and Gloria Warren. Fond brother of John (Niki) Warren, Michelle (Mark) Donnelly, Michael (Kelsey) Warren Jr., Jeremy Warren, and Angela (Anthony Pullano) Warren. Dear grandson of Caroline Bednar. Loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his dog, Buddy, and other extended family members, most notably his grandmother Dorothy Warren, who surely greeted him at Heaven’s gate.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Matthew served in the United States Navy after graduating high school. In his adult years, he lived in various cities across the U.S. before moving to McHenry to be closer to family. Matthew loved the outdoors, the Chicago Cubs, hiking, animals, cars, writing, and the mountains. He was a gentle and kind soul with an infectious smile, uplifting sense of humor, and intelligent mind. He will be missed by many and never forgotten.

Memorial visitation will be held September 10th from 4-7pm at Cardinal Funeral Home 7715 US-14 in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
