Alvin ‘Wayne’ Hoffman, 76, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family March 8, 2022. Born May 11, 1945 in Aurora Illinois to James and Florence “Lucille” Hoffman. Beloved husband of Christine (nee Schirmer) Hoffman; loving father of Matthew Wayne (Kristyn) Hoffman, Michael Wayne (Monica) Hoffman and Meagan Christine (Christopher) Sass; dear brother of Dennis James Hoffman. Wayne was also a grandpa-to-be as his first grandchild, Baby Sass is due to arrive June of 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Loretta Kettleson, and brothers Calvin Ray Hoffman and John Hollis Hoffman. Wayne served his country bravely in the United States Army and is a Vietnam War Veteran. He was a dedicated employee to AT&T, giving them 40 years of service working as a project manager. Wayne was also a proud business owner of Al’s CRM. He was a faithful member to Willow Creek Church and enjoyed the fellowship with the friends he and his wife Christine had made over the years. His love did not stop at caring for his family and friends but extended to his dogs as well. Wayne was a foster dad and cared for many four-legged friends, and very much enjoyed being a proud dog papa of Milo, and grand dog papa of Maisie, Faye, Lucy, Ollie, Marmot, Dooney and Meep. Wayne was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Please join us Saturday March 12, 2022 for a memorial visitation from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Cardinal Funeral Home 7715 US Rte 14 Crystal Lake IL 60012. Funeral service will follow at 12:00pm officiated by Pastor Travis Hughes. Military Honors are accorded.
